Proper Address Format for W&L On Campus Residents

The University makes no provisions for delivery of U.S. Postal Service mail to students. In order for on-campus residents to receive mail from the U.S. Postal Service, students must rent a box at the local Post Office.

All packages from other carriers (UPS, FedEx, Airborne, etc.) will be delivered to the W&L Mail Services office.  Mail services will attempt to contact you through W&L voicemail system.   Proper addressing is essential for your mail to reach you in a timely manner. No matter which carrier you use, the following format will help insure that your mail reaches you (please follow exactly):

        Washington and Lee University

        Your Name
        Dorm Name and Room Number
        204 West Washington Street
        Lexington, VA 24450-2116
